Group Financial Controller

Currently looking for a Group Financial Controller you will play a critical role in supporting the group finance function through efficient consolidation of group accounts, preparation of budgets, and management of cash flow. The role requires a proactive approach to aligning financial deliverables with the broader business objectives, ensuring financial integrity and transparency at all levels of the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Group Accounts Consolidation: Lead the monthly consolidation of group accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of group performance to stakeholders.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee the consolidation of group cash flow statements and provide strategic guidance on spend management across all group entities.
- Budget Support: Collaborate with business units across the group to prepare and consolidate annual budgets, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Financial Operations Collaboration: Maintain close working relationships with both commercial and operational finance teams to drive financial performance and support business initiatives.
- Group Banking Administration: Manage and oversee group banking arrangements, ensuring efficient administration and smooth operational flow.
- Lending & Reporting: Prepare consolidated financial reports for submission to banks and lenders, supporting group financing and lending arrangements.
- End-of-Year Accounts: Coordinate the collation of end-of-year financial returns and accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and timelines.
- Financial Policy Alignment: Work closely with finance leads across the group to ensure the consistent application of finance policies, procedures, and controls.
- Audit Management: Act as the primary contact for group audits, facilitating a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Staff Development: Support the training and professional development of the group finance team, fostering continuous improvement and skills enhancement.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of providing accurate and insightful financial information to senior management and external stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant accounting standards and principles, with the ability to apply them in a group context
Preferred:
- A relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Hands-on experience in the consolidation of group accounts.
- Familiarity with managing group cash flows and financial reporting for lending purposes.
